BISMARCK, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – A five-run offensive output in the first inning for Jamestown wasn’t enough to hold off Bismarck High as the Demons defeated the Blue Jays 6-5.

Four different Jamestown batters had doubles in the game on Monday, including Jackson Walters and Gage Orr who each went 2-for-4. Walters drove in one run and Orr brought in two. Max Fronk also drove in a run with a 1-for-3 performance and Jakob Schempp had an RBI as well.

Jacoby Nold went six and a third on the hill for Jamestown, allowing six runs but only three were earned. Nold finished with five strikeouts, one walk, and the Jays had one error defensively.

Jamestown wraps up its year with an 8-16 overall record and 5-13 in the WDA during the regular season. The WDA tournament begins on Thursday in Dickinson and runs through Saturday and the state tournament for Class A will be held in Mandan June 3-5.
