Annabelle “Annie” Mae Eggert was born on August 12, 1924 to John and Alma (Johnson) Eggert of Luverne, ND.  She had 4 brothers and a sister being the 4th child.  Annie attended Grand Prairie School, loving basketball games as a cheerleader.

Later, Annie met the love of her life, Morris Tharaldson and they loved dancing every Friday night.  They got married December 13, 1945 and later Morris left for the US Army and was stationed in Germany.  A day never went by that she didn’t receive a happy letter.  She stayed with her parents, where she did lots of baking and made lots of embroidery items.  Other places she worked was the Dazey Café, the Senior Citizens, and the Diner Den Café in Valley City.  For many years she wrote the Dazey News for area papers.

Annie and Morris lived in various places in and around Dazey.  They had 6 children (4 girls and 2 boys).  Annie sewed clothes for the girls and was the best baker and cook ever.  Her family always came first.  They loved socializing, playing cards, gardening, dancing, and Bingo.  They always loved people and their door was always open and the coffee on.

On March 4, 2010, they moved into the Sheyenne Care Center and continued being roommates until Morris passed away November 21, 2014.  Annie has kept busy with everything she could while being there, such as playing chimes, church activities, having parts in several plays, games, cards, Relay For Life, council meetings, and just visiting with old friends.  She especially loved making beaded necklaces and bracelets for anyone that came along.

Annabelle was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Morris; son, Clay; 4 brothers, Edward, Les, Earl “Ole” and Gordon; sister, Mary Lou Tessin; grandson, Michael Hannig; sons-in-law, Willie Treitline and Richard Johnson; and a special friend, Linda Bingham.

She is survived by her children, Darlene Johnson of Valley City, ND, Deborah (John) Boury of Northwood, ND, Gloria Oswald of Moorhead, MN, Leona (Adam Grossman) Barnard of West Fargo, ND, and Jerome Tharaldson of Dazey, ND; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The Leurd Mathias Funeral Home is assisting Annie’s family with arrangements.
