JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Blue Jay baseball team ended its regular season on Friday evening at Jack Brown Stadium as the Jays lost to West Fargo Sheyenne 10-0 in five and 11-1 in six in a nonconference doubleheader.

Jamestown slowed down the bats of the top team in the EDC during the first three innings with good work on the hill by Kasen Rowell. An error committed in the fourth led to an extra opportunity at the plate for the Mustangs and they capitalized in a big way by scoring five runs in the fourth to take a 5-0 lead in game one.

West Fargo tacked on five more in the top of the fifth off of five hits and another error defensively by Jamestown. The Mustangs tallied eight total hits while the Jays committed three errors in game one.

At the plate, Jamestown recorded just two hits during game one, both of which came in the first inning. Connor Hoyt and Brooks Roaldson each singled and Jamestown had the bases loaded during the first before West Fargo rolled a 4-6-3 double play to get out of the inning. Jamestown would only reach base two other times in the game.

In game two, Jamestown was able to scratch across their lone run of the day off of six total hits. WF Sheyenne would score eight total runs during the second inning to take control of the second game in the doubleheader.

The Blue Jays end the regular season with an 8-15 overall record and will take on Bismarck High on Monday evening at 5:30 pm in a play-in game for the WDA tournament.
