JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Earlier this month, the Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corporation (JSDC) proposed an incentive package as part of the agreement for ADM to build a $350 million soybean crushing plant in Spiritwood.

The more than $2.5 million incentive package would be covered by the city and Stutsman County. JSDC CEO Connie Ova says they’ll refer to ADM as “Company X” until the beginning of June.

She added they’ve given out incentive packages like this before in the past to different projects.

Ova added there will be “clawbacks” or stipulations for ADM to meet in order to receive the incentives proposed by the JSDC. The proposal would be an 80/20 split between the city and county.

The money would be paid out in phases for both the city and the county.

The county approved their share of the incentives at a cost of $502,800.

The county also approved additional funding for the 2021 Flex PACE Program.
