FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Outdoor opportunities aren’t only just in our backyard, but they’re also a quick trip away.

The Minnesota Fish Opener is set for Saturday, May 15th. This opens the season for walleye, sauger, and northern pike in the state of Minnesota.

Game & Fish Wildlife Biologist Doug Leier says with that in mind, May is also safe boating month.

In other outdoor news, Leier says the 2021 North Dakota deer season is set and applications are available. He says there will be plenty of opportunity in some area units for deer this year.
