JAMESTOWN, ND. (Jimmiepride.com) – University of Jamestown Men’s Basketball Head Coach Danny Neville announced the 2021 recruiting class on Thursday afternoon. The 2021 recruiting class for the Jimmies includes one graduate transfer, two four-year transfers and twelve high school players. The class is comprised of six players from North Dakota, four from Minnesota, two from Montana, and one each from South Dakota, Texas, and Wyoming.

“We’re extremely excited about this year’s recruiting class. These fifteen guys all fit our culture and what we are trying to do as a program. We checked a lot of our boxes with size, skill, and most importantly, they are all great people. The impact of this group on our program will be felt for years to come! The future of Jimmie Basketball is very bright.”

Cooper Olson (6’7 Foward – Champlin, MN):

Cooper comes to Jamestown after spending a year at NCAA Division II University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. Olson originally hails from Champlin, Minnesota where he attended basketball powerhouse, Champlin Park High School. Olson was ranked 27th in Minnesota by prephoops.com in his senior year, during which he helped lead Champlin Park to a 17-9 record.

John Argue (6’8 Foward – Houston, TX):

John joins the Jimmies after spending two years at NCAA Division III LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas. A Houston native, Argue was named to the ASC East Division All-Freshman team in his first season after averaging 12.1 PPG, 6.5 RPG, and 1.4 BPG. In his second season at LETU, John was named Honorable Mention All-Conference after leading the league in blocks per game at 1.9. He also averaged 15 PPG and 7.6 RPG while shooting 49.6% from the floor and 38.7% from three.

Logan Nelson (6’3 Guard – Hunter, ND)

Logan arrives in Jamestown as a Graduate Transfer after playing three years at neighboring Valley City State University. Logan brings a great deal of experience to UJ after playing in 84 games for the Vikings while starting 50 of those games. Nelson has career numbers of 969 points, 240 rebounds, and 106 assists while shooting 48.6% from the field and 42.6% from three-point range.

Lucas Schumacher (6’3 Guard – Linton, ND)

Lucas comes to Jamestown from Linton, ND where he enjoyed a standout prep career. Lucas was a First Team All-State selection in 2020-21 and was also named a ND Lions All-Star Game selection. Schumacher led his team to a 20-4 record in his Senior year, averaging 20.7 PPG, 5.7 RPG, and 4.8 APG while shooting 45% from the field.

Brooks Carroll (6’3 Guard – Jamestown, ND)

Brooks, a Jamestown native, joins the Jimmies after a successful career at Jamestown High. Carroll helped the Bluejays to a record of 37-11 during his time with the Varsity program and made 108 threes in his two year Varsity career while shooting 42% from deep. Carroll was an All-WDA performer in addition to his ND Lions All-Star Game selection for his efforts as a senior.

Jack Courneya (6’4 Guard – Frazee, MN)

Jack comes to Jamestown from Frazee, Minnesota. Jack enjoyed one of the best careers in Frazee basketball history, leaving his mark on the record books in more ways than one. Courneya leaves Frazee High School as the all-time leading scorer with 1,314 points, all-time three-point record holder with 165 in his career and 65 in his senior season. Jack was an HOL All-Conference selection after averaging 22.9 PPG, 5.7 APG, and 3.7 SPG.

Cameron Ketchum (6’3 Guard – Billings, MT)

Cameron comes to Jamestown from Billings, Montana. Ketchum and the Billings Skyview Basketball team captured the State AA Championship in 2021, after being named Co-Champions due to Covid in 2020. Cameron averaged 15.7 PPG, 6.5 RPG, and 2.7 APG while shooting 38% from three as a Senior.

Jase Crockett (5’9 Guard – Reiles Acres, ND)

Jase comes to Jamestown from Reiles Acres, North Dakota, playing his high school basketball at Northern Cass High School. Jase had a standout Senior season, averaging 24.5 PPG, 5 RPG, 5 APG, and 4 SPG. Crockett was a Second Team All-State Selection and was named a ND Lions All-Star Game reserve.

Evan Ulrich (6’7 Forward – New Rockford, ND)

Evan comes to Jamestown from just down the road, New Rockford, North Dakota. Evan was apart of a State Tournament team as a Junior and put up big numbers in his Senior season. Ulrich was named All-Region after averaging 20.9 PPG and 12.3 RPG as a Senior.

Gabe Gibson (6’4 Guard/Forward – Gillette, WY)

Gabe comes to Jamestown from Gillette, Wyoming. Gibson was sidelined with injury for a significant portion of his Senior season, but still was able to average 5.3 PPG, 4.1 RPG, 1 APG in limited games. Gibson was also an Honorable Mention All-Conference Selection.

Anthony Conzemius (6’6 Forward – Breckenridge, MN)

Anthony joins the Jimmies from Breckenridge, Minnesota. Anthony enjoyed a big Senior year, averaging 12.8 PPG, 10 RPG, and 1.2 BPG en route to an HOL All-Conference selection.

Garrett Kolbeck (5’11 Guard – Tea, SD)

Garrett comes to Jamestown from Tea, South Dakota. Garrett enjoyed successful careers in both Basketball and Football at Tea Area High School, winning a State Championship in Basketball and two in Football during his high school career. As a senior, Garrett averaged 14.1 PPG, 2.7 RPG, and 2.1 APG while hitting 76 three-pointers. He set school records for most threes in a game with 9, and career free throw percentage.

Ty Barta (6′ Guard – Laurel, MT)

Ty comes to Jamestown from Laurel, Montana. Ty was a part of two State Tournament teams at Laurel High School, including a Third-Place finish at State in 2021. Barta was a four-time Academic All-State Selection and led his team in three-point percentage as a Senior.

Brevyn Lingen (6’1 Guard – Thief River Falls, MN)

Brevyn joins the Jimmies from Thief River Falls, Minnesota. Brevyn had a great Senior season, averaging 12.6 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 3.4 APG, and 1.5 SPG on his way to earning an all Northwest Conference selection.

Emmanuel Kpahn (6’3 Guard/Forward – Jamestown, ND)

Emmanuel will join the Jimmies by staying in his hometown after enjoying his career at Jamestown High School. Kpahn was apart of a team that went 16-7 in his Senior season.
