The Jamestown baseball team struggled to produce runs on Friday night as the Jays fell 11-1 in six innings and 4-0 to Williston.

The lone run for Jamestown in game one came during the bottom of the fourth with the Jays trailing 4-0. Gage Orr was on second with Mason Lunzman at the plate and the sophomore delivered an RBI single into right field to bring in Orr and make the game 4-1.

Williston would jump on Jamestown in the top of the sixth, however, as the Coyotes tallied seven runs in the frame to go in front 11-1. Jacoby Nold doubled with one out in the bottom of the sixth, but Jamestown was unable to produce a run and fell to the Coyotes in six innings.

Jamestown totaled five hits in the first game and committed three errors on the defensive end. Jacob Schempp was handed the loss after going four and two-thirds and giving up four runs, three of which were earned. Brooks Roaldson allowed seven runs in relief, all coming in the sixth inning. Jackson Walters finished game one with a 1-for-2 performance with two stolen bases and a walk.

Jamestown dropped to 6-13 on the season and 3-13 in WDA play this year with the game two loss to Williston. The Blue Jays travel to Bismarck St. Mary’s on Tuesday for a conference doubleheader against the Saints and return home next Friday to play West Fargo Sheyenne.
