JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Blue Jay baseball team took two games from Watford City over the weekend as they defeated the Wolves 13-2 and 16-2.
It took until the late stages of game one for the bats to fully break out for Jamestown as the Jays scored 11 of their 13 runs in the final three innings of the first game. Jackson Walters went 2-for-3 with a home run and three runs driven in, and Ty Monson brought in a run with a double. Max Fronk finished game one 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Jakob Schempp earned the victory on the hill for Jamestown, his second win of the season.
The Blue Jays only needed six innings in game two to win by mercy rule. Jamestown scored all 16 of its runs in the final three innings of game two.
Gage Orr and Mason Lunzman each drove in two runs in the second game and Jacoby Nold went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Monson was the winning pitcher in game two for Jamestown as the Jays picked up their first sweep of the year.
