JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Some amazing ladies recently participated in the North Dakota Miss Amazing contest on May 1st in Minot.
Bobbi Jo Hofland is the Program Coordinator with Triumph, Inc. says the Miss Amazing contest was created to provide personal development opportunities and grow self-esteem in girls and women with disabilities.
“We provide opportunities for girls and women with disabilities to consider their goals, step outside of their comfort zones, and build networks of support,” the non-profit Miss Amazing states. “By investing in girls with disabilities, we nurture a strong community of leaders who push back against stereotypes and advocate for change, thereby creating even greater opportunities for the next generation.”
Hoffland says Lacey Thu, Alexis Lautt, Jennifer Randall, Marcie Thielges, and Suzanna Syverson all competed in the statewide contest.
She added this is the first year Triumph Inc. had ladies compete and out of their five participants, two won awards and will be traveling to Nashville, TN to represent North Dakota in their respective contest. She says both 2020 and 2021 contests were held that day.
Hoffland says now they’re beginning to fundraise to help send the ladies to the competition this summer in Nashville. That competition will be held July 30th through August 2nd.
She says she’s hopeful more agencies will consider participating in the competition in the future.
Sam Kolden, another amazing young lady, also placed in the competition, being crowned “ND Teen Miss Amazing”. She will also be traveling to Nashville, TN to compete.

There will also be a Walking Taco Drive Thru on June 3rd from 11am-1pm at Triumph, Inc. for the ladies to assist with fundraising.
