STEELE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Cardinals were down 1-0 after three innings, but opened the flood gates in the top of the fourth inning scoring eight runs, including a 3-run homerun off the bat of Michael Clifton and they hang on to defeat the Wolves of Kidder County 9-8. Carrington improves to 6-2 overall and 4-1 in Region 3 play, KC drops to 3-5 overall and 2-2 in Region 3 play.
KC had a big bottom of the fifth inning scoring six runs, including a Blake Braun 3-run homerun making the score 8-7. Carrington’s Ethan Buskness hit a solo shot over the left field wall to give the Cardinals a two run lead after five in a half innings, the Wolves would get another run in the home half of the sixth to get within one run. The Wolves would get the tying run to second base in the bottom of the seventh inning but would be held there.
Next up for Carrington will be in Tolna to take on Midkota on Friday, KDAK will have the game starting about 420p pregame and 430p first pitch.
