WAHPETON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Oakes track and field team competed at the OJ and Dee Jensen Kiwanis Invitational Track And Field Meet held at the NDSCS Track and Field Complex in Wahpeton.
Individually for Oakes, Garrett Meehl won the 100M Dash with a state qualifying time of 11.43. Other top 10 finishers, Landon Ptacek was seventh and Alex Muggli was tenth. Meehl was also first in the 200m with a time of 23.36. Joseph Heimwas sixth in the 400m and Blayson Dolney was tenth.
In the 800, Adam Mayer was seventh for Oakes. Cody Mayer was ninth in the 1600. Jaron Awender was seventh in the 3200.
In the relays, the 4×100 team of Barret Gelinske, Landon Ptacek, Noah Sundby and Alex Muggli took fifth. In the 4×200, Barret Gelinske, Andrew Wolff, Joseph Heim and Garret Meehl took second. The team of Joseph Heim, Blayson Dolney, Brandon Peters and Garret Meehl toook fouth in the 4×400. Dalton Schmit, Trey Skoglund,Adam Mayer and Brandon Peters were fifth in the 4×800.
In the field events, Andrew Visto was tenth in the javelin. Alex Muggli was first in the long jump with a jump of 20’9″. Jaared Gebhardt took ninth in the triple jump.
For the girls, Lanie Awender took first in the 100m dash with a state qualifying time of 12.66. She was also first in the 200m with a time of 27.00. Tyler Thompson was fourth in the 400m. Finja Isringhausen was ninth in the 800m and fourth in the 1600m
Emma Muggli second in the 300m hurdles and Ann Muggli was sixth.
In the relays, the team of Abby Cox, Tyler Thompson, Emma Muggli and Lanie Awender took second in the 4×200. The same four too second in the 4×400. The 4×800 team of Tyler Thompson,
Jaci Praska, Brynn Dethlefsen and Finja Isringhausen took sixth.
In field events, Sadie Hansen was first in the shot put with a throw of 37’7″. She was second in the discuss. Laikyn Roney took fourth in the javelin. Abby Cox was first in the long jump with a jump of 15’9″. Ann Muggli was tenth and Brynn Dethlefsen was 1/2 behind her in eleventh. Emma Muggli qualified for state by taking first in the triple jump with a school record jump of 35’5″
For the boys Kindred was the top scoring team and Fargo Shanley was the top girls team.
