BISMARCK, N.D. (Prairie Public Radio) – National Weather Service Hydrologist Alan Schlag says nearly 2-thirds of the state is under Extreme Drought conditions.

In terms of how dry things have become.

Schlag says the rain and snow that is in the forecast for parts of this will be welcome.

He says even if it won’t fully recharge things, the new moisture will be welcome. He says it will not only help lower the wildfire threat, it will benefit farmers as they look at getting spring planting underway.
