DES MOINES, IA. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown men’s volleyball team saw its season come to a close on Thursday night as they fell 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-17) to Park University (MO).
The Jimmies combined to just hit .048 as a team as the Pirates delivered a .280 hitting percentage in the match to outlast Jamestown. Freshman Derek Owens led UJ in kills with eight and was the only Jimmie to hit above .200 for the match.
Samuel Jackman finished with seven kills for Jamestown, and freshman Derek Correa had 25 assists during three sets. Caylor Cox led UJ in total digs with seven, and the GPAC Libero of the Year Braden Neumann had six. Park advances into the semifinals for the NAIA Men’s Championship.
Jamestown ended its season with a 21-3 overall record, losing just two matches during the regular season, both to #1 Grand View University. The Jimmies were the regular and postseason champions of the Great Plains Athletic Conference, dropping just one set in conference play during the 2021 season.
