JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Blue Jays softball team dominated in WDA play once again on Friday as Jamestown defeated Turtle Mountain 21-1 in both games.
The offense was hot from the start for Jamestown as the Jays put up 11 runs in the first inning behind two RBIs from both Katie Trumbauer and Ella Roaldson. The senior Roaldson totaled five RBIs in game one and had a three run blast in the bottom of the second inning. Marin Rassmussen drove in two runs and went 2-for-3 with two walks and three runs scored in game one.
Payton Gall went all five innings in the circle for Jamestown, striking out eight Bravettes and allowing just two hits. Gall had a perfect game going into the fourth inning before Kadence Grant recorded the first hit of the day for Turtle Mountain.
Jamestown improved to 5-3 on the year, and 5-1 in the WDA this season. The Blue Jays will host Watford City in a conference doubleheader beginning at 1 pm from Trapper Field. You can hear game two of the doubleheader at approximately 3 pm on Q101.
