The pandemic has taken many things away from all of us. If you are determined enough, and put in some work, maybe you can get back something you lost. Not the exact same, but the next step.
Pop. Pop. Pop. Some of you may not know what that sound is, but just ask Valley City State University freshmen Bridger Pulver and Jennifer Anderson, and they will tell you it is a sound they have heard many times before. It is the sound of the shotgun being fired at clay birds at the trap range. Both Pulver and Anderson had competed on their High School Trap Teams. Both were disappointed that there was no VCSU Trap team. So, what do you do when there is no Trap Team at your college you might ask? You find an adviser, recruit team members, and start one yourself.
That is what Jennifer and Bridger did. With help from members of the VC Trap Club, and a VCSU advisor Professor Nicholas Galt, the VCSU Trap Team was founded. Posters were made and distributed to see how much interest there was by students wanting to participate. It all came together on a cool and breezy Wednesday night. April 21, 2021 was the first official round for VCSU club members: Bridger Pulver, Austin Juhnke, Jacob Hansen, Braylen Bruns, Jennifer Anderson, Landon Hill, Cole Thompson, Evan Diede, and Keith Collins. Bruns, Pulver, and Collins were the top shooters of the night with a score of 24.
Officers of the club are President: Bridger Pulver and Vice President: Jennifer Anderson. There will be shooting league scores posted once a week. The club will be representing VCSU on May 1st in Jamestown competing against other North Dakota college teams.
