JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Fire & Police Committee approved the replacement of all lock sets at both fire stations in Jamestown.
In a letter from Jamestown Fire Chief Jim Reuther, it’s requested that they replace all walk door lock sets with electric locks and key fobs instead of replacing lock sets with keys.
“The doors haven’t been rekeyed for over 30 years [and] it’s unknown how many keys are actually existing at this time,” Chief Reuther states. “Lock sets are in poor condition, at times we are unable to enter the building because of them being worn out.”
Councilmember Dan Buchanan stated that Reuther was able to secure one bid for the project proposal.
The House of Glass proposal came in at $12,182.
The committee unanimously approved the bid.
