JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown baseball team struggled to get the bats moving on Thursday night as they fell 6-1 and 13-4 in the doubleheader against Bismarck Century.

In game one, the Blue Jays were held off the scoreboard until the seventh inning when Jamestown finally came through on an RBI single. Jacoby Nold was handed the loss on the mound in the first game and Bismarck’s Carson Motschenbacher picked up the win for the Patriots. Brooks Roaldson led the Jays in game one with two hits, including a double.

Game two started with a bang for the Patriots as they put up nine runs over the course of the first three innings. Jamestown responded with three runs in the fourth with Connor Hoyt, Nold, and Roaldson all scoring. The senior Nold finished game two 3-for-4 with three singles and two runs scored. Roaldson also had a pair of hits in game two.

The Blue Jays fall to 1-3 on the young season as Bismarck Century improves to 3-5 overall. Jamestown is back in action this Saturday when they travel to Minot to face the Magicians at 1 pm in a conference doubleheader. The next game at Jack Brown Stadium for Jamestown is May 4th against Bismarck Legacy.
