JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – As the spring and summer sport season approaches, Dakota Anglers in Jamestown and Stutsman County look to maintain, preserve, and grow the outdoor opportunities.

Jamestown Dakota Anglers President Dave Schmidt says they were growing before the pandemic struck in 2020. He says 2021 will be their chance to continue their efforts in Jamestown and the surrounding area.

Schmidt says their first order of business is to increase lake access in Stutsman County.

He added they’ll also be working with the Game & Fish Department and Woodworth Sportsman Club to adjust the dock at Barnes Lake.

In other conservation efforts, Schmidt says they’re teaming up with the local Boy Scout troop to help clean up the reservoirs.

He pointed out that the public was also welcome to join them in the clean-up on Saturday, April 24th.

The Dakota Anglers are also working on the upcoming Little Britches Fishing Tournament and their big Fishing Tournament in June. They’re also seeking new members to join them in their mission. You can follow them on Facebook for further details or contact Dave Schmidt at 701-659-0949
