JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – An event in support of legalizing marijuana will be held in Jamestown on Tuesday, April 20th.

Formed by a local group, the Cannabis Reform Rally is being held to provide education on cannabis and raise support for an initiated measure for legalization. Leslie Hulbert with the North Dakota Cannabis Caucus says they will also have the petition for the constitutional amendment to put it to a public vote.

“The amendment would allow residents to grow, possess, and consume cannabis in North Dakota,” Hubert explained. “Our goal with the event is to provide education and raise awareness of cannabis.”

The petition will need 30,000 or more signatures to be put on the ballot.

The event will also have Gale Pederson, a cannabis nurse, who will be able to answer questions regarding cannabis. There will be food, face painting, music, and different vendors from Minot, Carrington, Jamestown, and Fargo selling CBD products and merchandise.

The event will be held from 12 PM to 8 PM at Fort Seward in Jamestown and is open to the public.
