JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Annual Running of the Pink will make a triumphant return to a live event for its 14th year this summer.
The Running of the Pink was formed as a fundraiser years ago, raising thousands of dollars to assist area individuals with breast and cervical cancer screenings. The “No Excuses” program was rolled out to meet the demand for screenings and help those who couldn’t afford them.
Tara Kapp with RM Stoudt says they originally had intended to do a hybrid event in 2020, but cancelled the live run and opted for a virtual-only event. Because of its success, Kapp says they kept the virtual portion for the June 5th run.
Following meetings with the Jamestown Regional Medical Center and Central Valley Health, Kapp says they’ve been approved to hold the event as vaccination rates continue and COVID-19 numbers decline.
Kapp says the virtual run will allow anyone globally to participate, with funds going to the “No Excuses” program. The live run will feature a 10K and a 5K run/walk, making it both competitive and leisurely for anyone to join.
Registration is open and can be found on stoudtcars.com.
