JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Some new sights will greet visitors at Fort Seward this coming summer.

One of the first items visitors will notice is a playground that has been installed for kids. This was brought in following fundraising efforts by Jennie Marks and her son Colten.

Colten says the playground will be assembled by volunteers during planned work days in the month of May. Jennie says that they would welcome any and all who can to come to Fort Seward on the work days to get it ready for the summer.

Work days are set for May 1st, 9th, 15th, and 16th from 10 AM to 3 PM. Lunch and drinks will be provided.

Marks added they were satisfied with how their first ever glamping season went and are excited to return it and other camping experiences this year.

She says they’ll also introduce some yard games for visitors. The summer also brings their rotating exhibit, with new features every week including James River Clay Week, Flag Day, Life at Fort Seward, Medicine of the Frontier, Wagon Train Week, and the popular Guns of the Old West week.
