JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown women’s volleyball team is the #1 overall seed in the national tournament and will take on St. Mary (KS) on Saturday at Newman Arena at 3 pm.

Jamestown wrapped up the conference season with a GPAC tournament title on Saturday by sweeping #5 Northwestern. The Jimmies have held the number one spot in the NAIA poll for the entire spring semester and are 26-1 on the year. UJ went a perfect 13-0 inside of Harold Newman Arena this season and will have one more opportunity to play in front of Jamestown fans at home this weekend.
Four other GPAC schools made the national tournament, including Northwestern who will host Trinity Christian in the opening round. Midland and Dordt will also have home matches to start the tournament, with the Warriors facing Mayville State and the Defenders against MidAmerica Nazarene. Concordia (NE) was the last team announced during the selection show Monday morning, and the Bulldogs will travel to Xavier (La.).
The NAIA National Tournament starts Saturday with 48 total teams and 24 will head to Sioux City during the week of April 27th.
