CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – More than half of the population in Foster County have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine according to CHI St. Alexius Health.

Market President Mariann Doeling reports as of Wednesday, April 7th, there were 441,946 doses of vaccine given in North Dakota. She says in Foster County, 2,157 people have received a dose of vaccine. Eddy County has provided 1,598 who have received their first dose and a little more than 2,000 have received a dose in Wells County.

Doeling says they still don’t provide the Johnson & Johnson one-shot vaccination, but other entities in Foster County do including both pharmacies and Foster County Public Health as the distribution allows.

She added that the more who sign up, the less they’ll have to worry about “not using the doses” allotted to them.

Doeling says it’s important that better vaccinations be done in North Dakota, hoping to reach the 70 to 80 percent range of those who have received a COVID-19 vaccination. She says right now, there are three active COVID-19 cases in Foster County, meaning the virus is still present and can be spread.

If you have questions or want to sign up to be vaccinated in Foster County, you can contact any of the following entities to be registered:
