(NAFB) – Biofuel groups say President Biden’s infrastructure package overlooks the need to expand access to low-carbon biofuels like corn ethanol.

Growth Energy CEO Emily Skor calls it “disappointing” that Biden’s more than two trillion-dollar infrastructure plan only calls for more renewable energy research after Biden campaigned on promoting biofuels.

Troy Bredenkamp is with the Renewable Fuels Association.

Bredenkamp says research is good but agrees there have already been decades of research on ethanol.

While the RFA’s own research found that during the 13-years of the RFS, ethanol and other biofuels reduced the nation’s carbon emissions by nearly one billion metric tons, equal to taking more than 180 million cars off the road.
