NORTONVILLE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Crews around the state have been battling grass fires amid dry conditions and high winds.

Gene Hanson reports that Edgeley and Jud Fire Departments were called a grass fire near Nortonville on Monday.

“Arc for a power line may have started the fire,” Hanson stated. “Winds were 40 to 50 mph at time of the fire. After the Monday and Tuesday wind, the Rest Area North of Edgeley full of dirt. DOT was cleaning it out on Wednesday and hauling it by the truck load.”
