JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – Lincoln Trujillo hit his third home run of the season on Tuesday night as the Jimmies took down Concordia-Moorhead MN 7-3 in non-conference play.
Jamestown used seven pitchers on the evening to mow down the Cobbers lineup. The Jimmies recorded 13 total strikeouts as a team, and six pitchers threw a scoreless inning in relief. Freshman Mitchell Dennis earned his second win of the year in his second appearance on the bump after tossing three innings and allowing two earned runs.
Junior Brian Rice led the offensive attack for Jamestown by going 3-for-4 with two doubles and three runs driven in. The Jimmies picked up 12 total hits as a team and scored three runs in both the first and fifth innings. All three of Concordias runs came in the first inning, and the Jimmies bullpen didn’t allow a hit after the fourth frame.
Jamestown moved to 14-10 overall on the season and will restart conference play this Friday at 1 pm against Midland in a doubleheader.
