SIOUX CITY, IA. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown men’s volleyball team swept the GPAC weekly awards for the third time this season after the Jimmies picked up two wins this week over conference foe Morningside.

Freshman Derek Correa was named the GPAC setter of the week for the fourth consecutive time following 64 assists in two games played against the Mustangs. The Vega Baja, Puerto Rico native also had 10 digs on the week and ranks 10th in the NAIA in total sets this season with 581.

Tanner Woods earned attacker of the week after hitting a combined .406 in the two matches against Morningside. The Huntington Beach freshman had 11 kills in a straight-set sweep.

Patrick Magadia picked up his first weekly award by winning defender of the week. The Tacoma, Washington junior appeared in just one match last week but had three aces and eight kills while hitting .583 on offense.

The Jimmies have won 10 matches in a row and are ranked #5 in the country. Jamestown will travel to Dordt on Friday and Saturday to take on the Defenders to end the regular season. The GPAC postseason tournament begins April 9th at either 5 or 7 pm.
