KANSAS CITY, MO. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown took the floor with no fear on Thursday night as they knocked off the #4 seeded Faulkner Eagles 88-83.

It was a career night for Marc Kjos who dropped in 26 points on 8-12 shooting from three-point range. The sophomore was on fire in the second half making five threes in a row to keep Jamestown in front of Faulkner. The big night for Kjos was combined with another phenomenal performance by GPAC Player of the Year Mason Walters who also had 26 points and recorded 12 rebounds. Walters now has 23 double-doubles in 30 games played this season.

As a team, Jamestown shot 55% from the field, scoring 50 points in the second half. The Eagles hung with the Jimmies throughout the game but were never able to make the late surge they needed to knock off Jamestown. Faulkner was led in scoring by CJ Williamson who had 28 points.

Freshman Will Cordes finished in double figures for the Jimmies with 12 points, including 4-5 at the free-throw line to ice the game away. Brock Schrom made huge contributions on defense with five blocks in total and scoring six points.

Jamestown moves on to the Elite Eight which takes place on Saturday at noon against #5 seed Shawnee State. The Bears defeated Bethel (KS) 66-59 prior to the Jamestown game behind a huge triple-double from 6’11 EJ Onu. Walters and Onu will faceoff for the first time in what should be a great battle of post players Saturday.
