JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corporation (JSDC) is creating an Internship Program to potentially partner and utilize existing infrastructure in the area.
JSDC CEO Connie Ova approached the Stutsman County Commission with their plans Tuesday.
The program would provide employer reimbursement, paid internship opportunity, and more.
Ova added that a small number of JSDC board members would select employers to fund and evaluate the program and process after the initial funding rounds.
Ova is hopeful other colleges will also take advantage of the internship program.
The JSDC earlier this year approved $105,000 per year to fund the program on an 80% city/20% county split.
Ova added the goal of the program is to recruit and retain.
The county unanimously approved the plan.
