JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Gas prices in North Dakota have risen 5.2 cents per gallon in the past week.
The website gasbuddy.com, which monitors fuel prices, reports that prices now average $2.79 per gallon.
Those prices are 41 cents higher than they were a month ago, and 64 cents higher than one year ago.
“The increase is largely due to supply and demand, energy experts say, rather than presidential policies,” the website PolitiFact states. “The coronavirus pandemic prompted a big fall in oil demand and gasoline prices, due to declines in driving and air travel. As the economy has slowly rebounded, growing demand has boosted prices at the pump.”
The cheapest gas station in North Dakota is selling regular unleaded for $2.51, while the most expensive is at $3.19.
