JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – It’s the last full weekend before permanent ice houses need to be removed across the state.
Game & Fish Outdoor Wildlife Biologist Doug Leier says this needs to be done by Monday, March 15th.
Ice conditions pending, anglers can still ice fish and use temporary shelters as long as they’re removed.
Leier says they’ve also spotted snow geese moving into the area.
In other outdoor news, Leier says Zebra mussels have been found in moss balls purchased in pet stores.
The North Dakota Game and Fish Department is urging customers who recently purchased moss balls to properly dispose of them by placing in a bag, freezing solid and discarding into the trash. It’s important to not put moss balls down the toilet or drain. Visit gf.nd.gov for more information.
You can listen to Doug Leier every Thursday at 7:35 AM with JD in the Morning on Big Dog 95.5 FM.
