JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown City Forrester Erik Laber says work continues on tree trimming in the city.

Laber informed the Forestry Committee Thursday that with the assistance of the city street crews, a large portion of trimming was completed.

Laber says a few trees in that area may need to be removed, with a majority of them being crabapple trees. Laber says the street department has also completed some pruning along alleyways for city trucks to get through.

In other projects, Laber says they’re continuing work with the City Beautification Committee on the 3rd Avenue Train Crossing project.

Laber says he’s getting ready to place a tree order with about 100 to 200 potentially new trees to be planted. He says they’re also teaming up with the University of Jamestown and city for their inventory project.

He also reports beginning of April, they’ll begin looking for part-time summer help.
