fish-fry

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown El Zagal Mystics member Craig Melhaff says their fish fry was happening no matter what in 2021.

The long-running fundraiser, which enters its 40th year, has raised money to help the El Zagal Mystics with their many different events and more. Melhaff says they were disappointed they couldn’t hold the event in 2020 due to COVID-19.

Melhaff says El Zagal Mystics discussed ways to think “outside of the box” when it came to this years fish fry. That includes adding a drive up boxed option for the first time.

Melhaff says they will also be honoring tickets that were purchased last year for the event.

The group will be serving up the meal of breaded cod, baked beans, coleslaw, potato wedges, buns, a beverage and root beer float dessert for those who come inside the event. The Fish Fry is set for Friday, March 26th from 4:30 PM to 7 PM at the Gladstone Inn. Tickets are $15 for adults, 6-12 years $5, and children under 6 are free.

Melhaff says the event has been well received and their club looks forward to putting it on every year.

In other Shriner information, Melhaff says they will not be hosting the Shriner Circus again this year. Due to COVID-19, it was not feasible for the club to hold the event.

Melhaff also shared details about the 2nd Annual Fishing for A Cause event scheduled for August 14th and their Gun Raffle on June 24th.
