BISMARCK, N.D. (Prairie Public News) – As North Dakota prepares to “spring ahead” to Daylight Saving Time this Sunday, the Legislature continues to spend time on bills to make Daylight Saving Time permanent.
One bill is left. It passed the House, and is now in a Senate committee. And it will take some time for it to be considered on the floor. It is enabling legislation – that only takes effect if Congress allows it.
Meanwhile, the Senate’s version of the measure – SB 2201 — timed out in the House – even though Fargo Republican Representative Jim Kasper tried to keep it ticking.
But the House decided 67 to 25 that it was out of time.
The other bill – HB 1371 – will be heard today in the Senate Political Subdivisions Committee.
The time: 2:30.
