JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Blue Jays boys state tournament hopes came to an end on Saturday night as the Mandan Braves bested the Jays 70-66.
Mandan started the game red hot from three-point range, hitting 61% of its threes in the first half, and 65% for the game. Jamestown got contribution across the board, but the hot shooting for the Braves didn’t let up.
Three Blue Jays finished in double figures, with Brooks Carroll leading the way scoring 14 points and collecting 10 rebounds. Carson Lamp had 13 points and four assists, and Keith Levin chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds.
Jamestown had 22 second-chance points on the evening, allowing just eight to Mandan. The Jays also got 26 points off its bench in the loss. As a team, however, the Blue Jays shot just under 40% and went only 8/14 at the line.
Jamestown ends their season at 16-7 overall, one win shy of the state tournament.
