JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Blue Jays held a 45-33 lead at the halftime break but were unable to hold off the potent offense of Bismarck in the second half as they fell 79-70 on Thursday night.

Carson Lamp returned to form for the Jays, finishing with 17 total points on the evening. Jamestown found a hot streak to end the first half, going on a 26-3 run. However, it was Max Tschosik of Bismarck who heated up in the second half, going on an 8-0 run on his own to help push the Demons ahead.

The Blue Jays drop to 16-6 on the season and snap their four-game winning streak. Jamestown will still have a shot at the state tournament as they take on Mandan in a state qualifier on Saturday at 6:15 in the Bismarck Event Center. Both the girls and boys teams will be facing Mandan, with the Blue Jay girls scheduled to play at 11:45.

Bismarck High advances to the WDA Championship to take on #1 seeded Minot. The Magicians defeated Bismarck Legacy on Thursday, 71-53. Both Minot and Bismarck qualified for the state tournament with their victories tonight.
