JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Blue Jays girls basketball team kept its foot on the gas in the second half to take down Bismarck Saint Mary’s 72-36 in the loser-out bracket of the WDA tournament.

Jamestown’s Annie Nabwe was spectacular once again for the Jays, leading the team in scoring with 23 points and collecting 12 rebounds for another double-double. Senior Grace Hegerle finished with nine points, and Katie Falk had eight points with seven rebounds. Ella Falk chipped in with seven points and five boards.

The Jays led 35-18 going into the halftime break and used an 18-4 run to open the second half to push the Saints out of the game. The victory over St. Mary’s was the third this year for Jamestown in three attempts.

In total, Jamestown had nine total players score a bucket in the game, and will now advance to a state qualifier game on Saturday at 11:45 am against the loser of Watford City and Mandan. The Blue Jays move to 14-8 overall on the year and keep the quest for the state tournament alive.
