JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Calls for service through the Stutsman County Communications Center were down a second straight year in 2020.
Stutsman County Emergency Manager Jerry Bergquist reports that their biggest agency in terms of call volume was the Jamestown Police Department with 13,429 calls. That’s down from 14,618 in 2019.
The Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office had the second most calls with 7,469 in 2020, down from 8,466 in 2019. Bergquist says this may be blamed on the pandemic.
Other top agencies to use the Stutsman County Communications Center in 2020 included Jamestown Ambulance with 2,142 calls, North Dakota Highway Patrol with 655 calls, and Jamestown Fire Department with 248 calls.
Bergquist also reported on the different calls including wrecker calls, fire alarms, and security alarms.
He also says a majority of all calls come in from cell phones as opposed to landlines.
