NEW ROCKFORD, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Day two of the 2021 District 7 Boys Basketball tournament was held on Saturday with another three games, here are the results:
Lakota 70 Warwick 62 (elimination game)
Four Winds/Minnewaukan 76 Harvey/Wells County 51 (semifinal)
The one seed in the tourney and number one in the state in Class B Boys basketball cruised to a 25 point win over the four seed in the tourney, the Hornets of HWC. The Indians had three players in double figures, Seniors JaeShaun Shaw and 6’10” Center Bronson Walter scored 18 each, Walter scored his 1,000th point of his career in the third quarter. Junior Jayden Yankton added 16. No. 1 FWM improves to 19-1 overall and will go for their 10th consecutive District 7 championship Monday night against the NRS Rockets. HWC was led by Alex Erickson with 13 points. HWC drops to 9-12 overall.
New Rockford/Sheyenne 75 Dakota Prairie 66 (semifinal)
The Rockets will move into the District 7 championship for the fourth year in a row as they defeat the Knights of DP in the last game of the evening. The Rockets were led by 6’7″ Senior Evan Ulrich with 27 points, Johnny Grann added 23 and Nick Berglund had 13. DP dropped in 11 treys, including five by Garrett Haakenson, he had 19 total points to lead them. All five starters for the Knights were in double figures, Blake Hanson 14, Cade Stein and Mason Lenz 10 each, Garrett Syverson with 12 and Haakenson’s 19. DP drops to 10-10 overall, NRS improves to 15-6 overall.

530pm – Dakota Prairie vs. Benson County (Region 4 qualifier)
7pm – Four Winds/Minn. vs. New Rockford/Shey. (championship)
