JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – In 2018, Jamestown Tourism unveiled a virtual tour to highlight different aspects of the community to potential visitors.

The company Be More Colorful of Fargo was able to capture multiple sites using 3D technology to display different dining experiences, campgrounds, historic sites and more.

On Monday, the tourism board heard more about the possible expansion of the tour. Matt Chaussee is the CEO and Co-Founder of Be More Colorful.

Searle Swedlund reached out to the company after viewing some of the latest projects they’ve completed to explore a potential “phase 2” of the virtual Jamestown tour.

One such project completed by the company was a virtual tour of the city of Hawley, MN.

Chaussee says this curated experience gives a glimpse into different amenities and developments that a community has to offer. He says they are able to target specific audiences whether they’re looking to relocate to the community, explore the schools, or view a business.

The proposed next steps would be used to explore downtown Jamestown and possibly expanded to explore the entire community.

Swedlund says the updated virtual Downtown tour might be able to reach those who usually “drive through” Jamestown without stopping.

He says they could engage businesses in order to complete an interactive tour of their site downtown. Swedlund says the next steps is evaluating the value of implementing the virtual tour downtown and determining if the project is worth pursuing.
