(NAFB) – The latest Cattle on Feed report from the Department of Agriculture indicates the industry is fairly current and beef demand remains strong. That’s according to Oklahoma State University Extension livestock market economist Dr. Derrell Peel.

Peel says one thing to keep in mind is January 2021 had two less slaughter days than January a year ago.

Peel adds the recent brutal cold weather impact will eventually show up in the report as the cold robs production from the system, especially in the feed yards.
