VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – North Dakotan’s could experience another power outage according to an update from the Southwest Power Pool issued by Missouri River Energy Services on February 16th.
Southwest Power Pool said as temperatures improve, it will lessen the high load demand and take pressure off the electrical grid.
Valley City Electrical Supervisor Marshall Senf said the rolling blackout is expected to last from 30 to 45 minutes. During these power outage blackouts, the Valley City Public Works Department is asking residents to limit their water usage only when there is a rolling power outage.
Valley City Mayor Dave Carlsrud said residents should continue to take measures to conserve electrical consumption over the next few days in Valley City.
And Mayor Carlsrud said the city commission voted to expire their face mask mandate on Tuesday, February 16th during their regular meeting. He said even though COVID-19 positivity numbers have dropped significantly in the area and across the state people should still mask up where social distancing isn’t possible in Valley City.
