JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – In an exciting road game in Bismarck, Jamestown came up just short as they lost 74-65 to the Sabres.
Senior Carson Lamp led the way for the Blue Jays, scoring 21 first-half points and 30 total points in the game. Jamestown went into the halftime break trailing by just one point, and the Jays were competitive throughout the entire second half in a hostile road environment.
Brooks Carroll was the only other Jamestown player to score in double figures on Tuesday night, finishing with 13 points, including three three-pointers. Jacob Hilgemann came close to double figures as well, ending the game with eight.
Jamestown dropped to 12-5 overall on the year and currently sit in fourth place in the WDA standings. The Blue Jays have a busy upcoming weekend as they travel to both Williston and Watford City on Friday and Saturday.
In girl’s action at Jerry Meyer Arena on Tuesday night, the Blue Jays also fell to Legacy by a final score of 68-61. The Jamestown girls team is 12-6 overall on the year and will host Williston Friday night. You can hear that full game on Jamestown 107.1 beginning at 6:45 pm.
The Jays girls team is also in fourth place overall in the WDA standings, with two games remaining on their schedule. With the top teams in the WDA region hosting games in the tournament this year, it’s important for both Blue Jays teams to stay in the top four.
