JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The City of Jamestown has received it’s single largest donation for the new ladder truck within the Fire Department.
During a small presentation Saturday, Great River Energy (GRE) passed a check to the Jamestown Fire Department in the amount of $250,000. Jamestown Mayor Dwaine Heinrich proclaimed February 13th as Great River Energy day in Jamestown in response to the generous donation.
GRE constructed and operates Spiritwood Station and is a partner with the Jamestown Stutsman Development Corporation. They also operate Dakota Spirit AgEnergy. Members stated the ladder truck could ultimately be used at GRE’s facilities in Spiritwood.
Representative Chet Pollert of Carrington and Senator Terry Wanzek of Jamestown were also present for the check presentation.
There have been 33 donations bringing the public funds raised for the ladder truck to $478,000 total.
