JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Rotary Club has been working on establishing a Rotaract Club in the community.
The Rotary club is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who work to promote peace, fight disease, provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene, support education, grow local economies and more.
Rotary Club President Sean Johnson says their group is filled with individuals from different parts of the community. He says they’ve also begun establishing a Rotaract Club in Jamestown.
In communities worldwide, Rotary and Rotaract members work side by side to take action through service. There are nearly 10,700 Rotaract Clubs with more than 203,000 members nationwide.
Johnson added the hope would not only be adding future Rotarians, but keeping younger students in the community.
The Jamestown Rotary Club meets each Tuesday at 12 PM at the Quality Inn & Suites in Jamestown.
