JAMESTOWN ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The #5 Jamestown Blue Jays couldn’t hold on to a halftime lead as #2 Minot stormed back to beat Jamestown 67-62.

Jamestown got off to a good start, leading by 14 going into the break. The Blue Jays got major production from Luke Van Berkom, filling in as a starter, who finished with 10 points.

Jamestown was without two starters on Thursday, as both Ty Monson and Keith Levin were unable to go. Carson Lamp led the way in scoring for the Jays with 15 points.

Seniors Jacob Hilgemann and Brooks Carroll both finished in double figures. Hilgemann had 13 and Carroll scored 12.

Minot was able to push the pace in the second half, and Michael Ross provided 16 second-half points for the Magicians to lead them to the comeback victory. Minot has now won 10 consecutive games, and are 16-1 this year.

Jamestown now sits at 12-4 on the season and will play at Bismarck Legacy next Tuesday. Legacy currently has a half-game lead over the Blue Jays in the WDA standings for second place.
