JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Blue Jays girls basketball team went to Mandan and never trailed as they defeated the Braves 66-55 on Friday night.

The Blue Jays were lead in scoring by senior Grace Hegerle who finished with 16 points to lead all scorers. Annie Nabwe was a menace on defense and on the glass once again, she finished with 14 points. Nabwe is the current leader in the WDA in rebounds per game, averaging 10 a contest.

Ella Falk contributed 10 more points for Jamestown, and senior guard Jordan Finck had nine points, all from three-point range.

Off the bench, Breanna Oettle scored in double figures once again, finishing with 10 points and was stellar at guard. Katie Trumber chipped in with two. The win for head coach Andy Skunberg was the first for him in Mandan in his career.

The Blue Jays are back in action tomorrow night at 7 pm as Turtle Mountain comes to Jerry Myer Arena. Jamestown now holds a 10-4 overall record, and sits in fourth place in the WDA. Mark McKenzie will have your call tomorrow on Jamestown 107.1.
