SIOUX CITY, IA. (NewsDakota.com) – With 1.3 seconds to go and Jamestown down by two, Marc Kjos caught a full-court pass and then proceeded to hit a deep three-pointer at the buzzer to give the Jimmies a 72-71 victory over Briar Cliff.
Kjos, a sophomore out of Lake City Minnesota, finished with a game-high 18 points on 7-12 shooting from the field. He also had five rebounds and an assist.
The Jimmies were also helped by Brady Birch and Cole Woodford, who each finished with 10 points. Birch finished with a double-double, collecting 11 rebounds.
Jamestown improved to 17-5 on the year, with a 13-4 record inside the GPAC. The Jimmies sit a game and a half behind Morningside for first place in the conference. Jamestown will be in action again on Saturday as they host Midland.
WOMEN’S:
In the Jimmies women’s game, Jamestown fell 90-56 on the road. With the loss, Jamestown now has a 14-8 overall record, including 11-8 in conference play.
The only person in double figures for Jamestown was Kia Tower who finished with 11 points and two steals. Macy Savela scored nine for the Jimmies, and Emma Stoher and Audrey Rodakowski each had eight.
Jamestown shot 37% as a team from the field, compared to 55% for Briar Cliff. The Chargers outrebounded Jamestown by 28.
