The Blue Jay boys basketball team ran its winning streak to nine in a row with a 66-56 win over Bismarck Tuesday night at Jerry Meyer Arena.
The last time Jamestown lost a game was at Bismarck on December 31st 68-65.
The Blue Jay defense stole the spotlight over the highest-scoring offense in the conference.
Coming into this mega match-up, Jamestown was number one in the WDA allowing only 55 points a game, and the Demon offense was number one at 88 points a game.
Jamestown limited its turnovers and forced Bismarck into a half-court game. The Jays also dominated the offensive glass which led to many putbacks or fouls that put Jamestown at the line.
Jamestown closed the first half on a 6-0 run and started the second half with a 13-2 run and eventually bumped the lead to 19.
Senior Carson Lamp was the Blue Jays top gun with 20 points and senior Brooks Carroll added 13, Senior Keith Levin knocked down 11 and Senior Jacob Hilgemann came off the bench to score 10.
Jamestown kept pace with conference leader Minot. The magicians lead the WDA at 13-1 while the Jays stand at 11-2. The two teams will meet next week in Jamestown.
Next up for the Blue Jays is a trip to Belcourt on Saturday to face Turtle Mountain.
The Blue Jay girls picked up a huge road win Tuesday night at Bismarck defeating the Demons 79-71.
Jamestown was led by Grace Hegerle with 19. Katie Falk dropped in 17 and Ella Falk tallied 12.
With the win Jamestown improved to 9-4 a kept their hopes alive of getting the number two seed for the WDA Tournament.
