ENDERLIN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Three of the four losses this season for LaMoure-Litchville-Marion have been by five points or less, the other loss was by seven to Enderlin back on January 14th in the revamped Barnes County Tournament. Saturday the two team met again in Enderlin and again another close game for the Loboes, but with a different result.

Charlie Bowman hit two free throws in the final minute of the fourth quarter to lift LaMoure-Litchville-Marion to a 51-50 win over top ranked Enderlin.

Neither team could gain control of this one. The Loboes led by as much as nine in the first quarter, only to see that lead drop to three 28-25 by the break.

Enderlin would take the lead back midway through the third quarter, but LaMoure-Litchville-Marion would take it back late in the quarter for a 42-40 heading into the final eight minutes.

The Eagles would come back a take the lead again in a back and forth final quarter. The with under a minute to go, Bowman would line for two crucial free throws. The junior would hit both to give the Loboes a one point lead.

But Enderlin would get one more chance. Colton Ness missed a bonus free throw with six seconds remaining in the game. The Eagles would call time with 1.1 seconds to set up a play. Out of the timeout, the Eagles had a set play for 6’10” junior Joe Hurlburt. Despite being a big man, he can also hit from long range. He already had hit two three pointers in the game, but this attempt missed as the horn sounded snapping Enderlin’s eight game winning streak.

With the win, LaMoure-Litchville-Marion improves to 10-4 on the season while Enderlin falls to 10-2.
